I took graduate English classes at Case Western Reserve University during my tenure at university libraries. With a background as an academically trained actor, playwright, and published author writing under the nom de plume of Ian Bar, I bring an energetic and proactive approach that engages audiences and readers. As an instructor for English composition at the college level, I have a proven record for providing student success along with the highest performance evaluations for teaching before a classroom.
My teaching experience includes grammar, essay writing, logic, rhetoric, pronunciation, and fluency. Furthermore, I have instructed classroom and one-on-one sessions regarding information literacy, research, and various citation styles, including assisting with the preparation of master theses and PhD dissertations. With over a decade of assisting students for college entry testing, as well as serving as an online advocate and tutor for business, criminal justice, and history, my passion is ensuring students enhance their quality of communication and learning skills.
Emory University – B.A., Latin
I began tutoring professionally after entering college, spending one year as a language tutor for Emory University, then pursuing private tutoring. I have worked with students of all ages, from preschool to middle-aged, and in a variety of subjects. I have aided students in preparing for various standardized tests (from the ISEE to the ACT), school subjects, and languages. My students achieve high grades in their school subjects and do very well on standardized tests.
I possess a wealth of knowledge in various areas, but one of the things that I find fun about learning is seeing how subjects connect to the real world. My students find learning and their subject matters a lot more interesting when I start pointing out these connections to them. By nature, I am a very personable and patient and I can work with any kind of student. As such, students really enjoy tutoring sessions with me.

Agnes Scott College – B.A., Art History & Religious Studies
I am an adjunct professor with teaching experience in the university and technical college systems. I have been tutoring various subjects for most of my life, including Math, English, Study Skills, and Critical Thinking. While earning my Master’s degree, I gained experience as a Writing Consultant at GSU, where I provided one-on-one guidance for students struggling with thesis development, organization, and grammar. I have a passion for helping students and enjoy putting things in easy-to-understand terms. I believe when students are able to see connections between the material and their interests or the world around them, comprehension becomes easier.

Hello, my name is Darian and I am currently a Masters Candidate at Rollins School of Public Health. I have various experience working with students both in the teaching and tutoring realm. In 2016, I tutored refugee children in Elementary and Middle school with English and Math. Since then, I have worked with college level students teaching workshops or courses on health education. I prefer to begin all lessons by getting to know the student and how they learn, before tailoring my methods to give them the best experience possible. My goal is to aid my students in trying their best and feeling proud of all they have accomplished.
