About Me

I took graduate English classes at Case Western Reserve University during my tenure at university libraries. With a background as an academically trained actor, playwright, and published author writing under the nom de plume of Ian Bar, I bring an energetic and proactive approach that engages audiences and readers. As an instructor for English composition at the college level, I have a proven record for providing student success along with the highest performance evaluations for teaching before a classroom.

My teaching experience includes grammar, essay writing, logic, rhetoric, pronunciation, and fluency. Furthermore, I have instructed classroom and one-on-one sessions regarding information literacy, research, and various citation styles, including assisting with the preparation of master theses and PhD dissertations. With over a decade of assisting students for college entry testing, as well as serving as an online advocate and tutor for business, criminal justice, and history, my passion is ensuring students enhance their quality of communication and learning skills.
