Strive Academics COVID-19 Response and Guidance

Last Thursday, Governor Brian Kemp suggested that schools and other organizations consider closing during the COVID-19 outbreak in order to minimize the risk of spreading the virus. Since then, all public schools in the Metro Atlanta area have decided to close. As things currently stand, most schools in our area are closed until further notice with the expectation that these restrictions will not be lifted before the end of the month.

Nationwide, we recognize that many school districts face their own unique sets of circumstances. In some areas, students await further guidance about how or if their schools will continue their instruction for the school year. Many schools are looking into or implementing online learning solutions. We cannot be certain at this time what exactly lies in store as schools are still in the process of making decisions about how they will move forward.

With current recommendations from the CDC and White House on social distancing, we highly recommend conducting sessions online. If you are feeling under the weather, please reschedule or make arrangements for an online session. Even if you are well, we encourage you to conduct online sessions until the spreading starts to subside. To aid in this transitional period, we are putting together resources to make online tutoring easier and provide options for free or low-cost learning.

Earlier this week, we integrated a new online lesson space into our website. This makes it easier to meet with your tutor virtually. Once you and your tutor decide on a schedule, they will log it on their calendar. When you log into your account, click on the event and click “view.”

Click the blue “Launch Online Lesson Space” button to launch the lesson space.

Once launched, you and your tutor will have options to use a virtual whiteboard, in-lesson chat, share documents, a live video feed, and more.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to get in touch. Your feedback is important. We will keep you updated with any changes as we learn more details. Most importantly, stay safe!

We will continue adding useful resources to the list below during this time.
