Changes Coming To Strive Academics in 2024

Strive Academics 2024 – EARN Feb 2024 Presentation by Ralston Medouze

Online Group Classes

One of the biggest changes we are making at Strive Academics is changing the way we are doing tutoring a bit. Since the company’s founding in 2016, we have been primarily focused on one-on-one, in-person tutoring with some online offerings. We are planning to grow our online tutoring offerings and add in some group classes through Outschool. These group classes are structured a bit differently than our traditional, one-on-one tutoring. There will be classes on specific topics with a set curriculum that students in which students can enroll. These will be given at a specific time and time period and will cover essential information students will need for the given concept.

This is less flexible than one-on-one, in which students can choose the time(s) that work best for them, but it will be a much more cost-effective option for students and families that cannot fit private tutoring into their budgets. Class sizes will be relatively small, ranging from 5 – 15 students on average, with a cap at 15 enrollments. This still offers a personable learning environment where students can interact with the teacher and ask questions, but every single question or specific concept may not be able to be addressed during class-time. We are also offering some additional, extra-curricular courses through this medium. Currently, we have ongoing classes for ACT/SAT Math and Intro to Photography. More offerings are coming later this year.

Content-Focused

Since the founding of Strive Academics, putting out educational content has been part of our mission, but it has never been a specific focus. In the past, we have put out some great and popular resources such as How Do I Pay For College? and 40 Things You Should Know For The ACT. Now, we are doubling down on content and putting out much more on our blog and social media. You will see more content on basic topics like solving an equation or finding the main idea in a passage as well as other questions students may have such as “What is changing about the SAT?” and “What is an English major like?” We will also be focusing more on video content for these concepts and questions, both in short and long-form.

Educational Resources

We have always been offering free resources at Strive Academics, most focused on our blog and website. Around 2020, we began offering some educational resources for sale through Teachers Pay Teachers. These resources are great for students that are looking for additional study content without needing the full assistance of a tutor. This is also a great option for tutors or teachers looking to save some time in preparing classes or for parents/groups that are homeschooling. Whatever the use, we have expanded the offerings of free and paid resources for a variety of subjects, now boasting over 200 worksheets, courses, flashcards, and games. We have since established our own store in addition to these other marketplaces, and are continuing to add great content! You can find a lot of resources free or buy premium resources individually. Through our store on payhip, you also have the option of getting access to all current and future worksheets through our membership for one low price!
