Starting at the end of this month, Strive Academics is offering two new courses! We’re partnering with Outschool to bring online group classes to students around the world. This year, we’re starting with offering two high-demand classes:
Essential ACT/SAT Math – Learn the Concepts to Master the Test! and Introduction to Photography – From Smartphones to Dslrs, Learn the Basics. The first is an in-depth look into the math concepts necessary to ace the ACT and SAT Math sections. The second class is an extracurricular hobbyist class for students with an interest in photography.
In this 9-week class, students will learn the essential concepts they need to understand and master the Math sections of the ACT and SAT. Students will learn about the most important areas of focus for this section of the test and learn how to apply the basic concepts to word problems and integrate the different concepts into multi-step problems. Test-taking skills may be mentioned initially and at points during the instruction, but it is not the focus of this class beyond acquainting students with the structure of the tests and how to approach certain problems. Students will be expected to take notes, complete homework, and participate in class if called on or voice any questions they may have about the test or concepts being covered. Use the code ACADEO9I5U32 to get the first 2 classes free! Space is limited to 15 students, so get your spot now while it lasts!
In this 4-week class, we will focus on learning the basics of photography and building confidence by presenting our work through fun photography projects! Students will learn the basics of photography such as composition, lighting, manual controls, basic editing, and more. Weeks 1-3 will include a project to complete for the following class. At the beginning of each class, we will spend some time sharing our work on these projects and offering constructive feedback. This class is perfect whether your student is using a smartphone, point and shoot camera, or DSLR. Use the code ACADENY10 to get the first class free!
